Joseph Daniel Branscome, Sr., 79, of Princeton, WV, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at his home. He had been a resident of Princeton for fifty years. Born October 12, 1945, in Matoaka, WV, he was a son of the late E.G. Branscome, Sr. and Aline Vest Branscome. Joseph was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He was a retired coal miner with twenty-one years of service and was a member of the UMWA. He loved to fish and spent many hours sitting on the riverbank.
Those left to cherish Joseph’s memory are his wife of 54 years, Patty Miles Branscome of the home; son, Joseph D. Branscome, Jr. of Princeton, WV; daughter, Misty Dawn Branscome of North Carolina; grandchildren, Kerry Lynn Hatfield Hinkle (Greg), Josie May Wright, and William Patrick Wright; great-grandchildren, Talia and Theo Hinkle; sister, Jane Branscome Arrington of Princeton, WV; and brother, Douglas Roscoe Branscome (Linda) of Princeton, WV.
The family would like to thank Joseph’s special caregiver, Lyndsay Thompson.
In keeping with Joseph’s wishing, he will be cremated, and there will be no services. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Branscome family.
