Johnny Eugene Tooley

Johnny Eugene Tooley, 74, of Rock, WV, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at a Bluefield, WV hospital.

Born on August 25, 1951 he was a son of the late Arthur James Tooley and Hazel Thompson Tooley. He had been a lifelong resident of McComas and was proud to be a retired coal miner, having worked from 1978-2005 for CONSOL at Crane Creek and Buchanan.

He was preceded in death sisters, Judy Kilby, Christine Whitamore, Doris Tooley, Jaqalene Tooley and brothers Jimmy Tooley, Freddie Tooley, Curtis Tooley.

He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Shrader and husband, Jarrett A. Shrader of Rock; grandchildren, Michael (Megan) Gilbert, Ethan and Chase Gilbert; a great granddaughter, Khloe Gilbert; former wife and caregiver, Deborah Copley and husband David; and his siblings, Hazel Tooley Browning and Harold Johnnie Browning of McComas, Darlene Tooley of Bluefield, WV, Vickie Tooley Kennett and Mike Kennett of McComas; Brenda Ryles of Salem VA; and 14 Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with his brother in law, Mike Kennett officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Jarrett A. Shrader, Thomas Gilbert Sr., Michael Gilbert, Ethan Gilbert, Chase Gilbert and David Copley will serve as pallbearers. Ronald Cook will serve as honorary pallbearer.
