Johnny Wayne Punturi, Sr.

Johnny Wayne Punturi, Sr, 71, of Bluefield, VA passed away on July 5, 2026 at his son's home. Johnny was born on March 25, 1955 in Bluefield, WV. He worked at and retired from Flowers Bakery. Johnny was preceded in death by his father Nindo Punturi, Sr and mother Ethel Punturi, as well as his brothers Billy Ray Punturi and Nindo "Talley" Punturi and sisters Rita and Ruth Mullins and Judy Nelson.

Johnny will be remembered fondly by his sons Johnny Punturi, Jr (Brandi) of Bluefield, VA and Christopher Punturi (Marinda) of Sevierville, TN and by his brothers Robert Punturi of NC, Daniel Punturi (Carol) of Bluefield, WV, Brian Punturi (Bonnie) of Martinsville, VA, and sisters Joan White (Allen) of Bluefield, WV and Carol Perry of Bluefield, WV. As well as by his 7 grandchildren Bryant Punturi, Nicole Vanover (Jonathan), Ethan Punturi, Lexi Thompson (Conner), Zoey Punturi, Brianna, and Ben and 3 great-grandchildren Avarie Punturi, Greysin Vanover, Colter Vanover, and special friend Gary Earp.

Services to honor the life of Johnny Punturi will be held on Wednesday July 8th, 2026 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV at 2:00PM. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 1:00PM. Bishop Michael Hartwell will be officiating over the service with Jonathan Vanover, Bryant Punturi, Ethan Punturi, Justin Perry, Noah White, and David White serving as Pallbearers. The burial will take place directly after the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Punturi family.
