John Abe Lawrence II

John Abe Lawrence II passed peacefully in his home Sunday, July 9th. John was born April 21, 1934 in McComas WV. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Massie, his parents John Abe and Mae Vest Lawrence, sisters Jean and Frances. He is survived by son Abe Lawrence lll (Cyndi) of Dallas TX and Willard Lawrence (Kate) of Charleston WV; four grandchildren, Abe John IV (Katelyn) Lawrence of Dallas TX and Melissa (Michael) Westerfield of Aurora IN, Thomas Lawrence and Marcus Lawrence of Huntington WV; four great- grandchildren, Abe John V and Piper of Dallas TX, Isabella and Michael of Aurora IN. John was a founder and had a lifetime commitment & service to Maple View Church of Christ. After retirement with Piedmont Airlines, he performed many years of community service including 30 years as a volunteer at Bluefield and Princeton hospitals. A celebration of life will be held at Maple View Church of Christ Monday, 17th of July at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, John's request was contribution given to Maple View Church of Christ, 194 Robbins Rest Rd., Bluefield, WV 24701.
