Joey Wayne Surface

Joey Wayne Surface, 47, of Princeton, WV, passed away Monday, July 19, 2021 of natural causes.  He lost his battle with a series of cardiovascular diseases. Born March 12, 1974 in Princeton WV, he was the son of Yvonne Bowyer Barnette and the late Roger Wayne Surface. Joey was a loving father, son and brother. His smile was infectious. He always had a way to add humor in every situation. He enjoyed being with his family, his in-laws and especially loved fast cars, WVU football and motorcycles. Joey worked as a heavy machinery operator.  In addition to his father, Joey was preceded in death by the love of his life, Tabby England and a sister, Cathy Ellison.

Those left to cherish Joey’s memory are his mother, Yvonne Bowyer Barnette of Green Valley, WV; son, Tyler Wayne Surface of Shady Springs, WV; daughter, Sommer Rayne Surface of Shady Springs, WV; sister Pamela DeSimone and her husband Joey DeSimone of Cornelius, NC; and a brother, Duane Surface of Sinks Grove, WV. 

In keeping with Joey’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no public services.  Craven’s Shires Funeral Home is serving the Surface family.
