Joann Hampton Moore, 75, of Clover Dew Dairy Road, passed away on May 14, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of a life devoted to faith, family, and caring for others. Born on October 31, 1950, Joann lived a life defined by compassion, strength, sacrifice, and unwavering love.
She carried a servant’s heart and found her greatest purpose in loving and caring for those around her. Her family was the center of her world, and she loved them more than anything. Joann was known for putting others before herself, often making sacrifices of her own for the people she loved most. Her generosity and selflessness were gifts that touched countless lives and created a legacy that will continue through generations.
Joann dedicated nearly 30 years of her life to caring for others through her work at Westwood Nursing Home, where she eventually retired. She brought kindness, comfort, and compassion not only to residents but to coworkers and everyone she encountered. Caring for people was not simply her profession—it reflected who she was at her core.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents, her ten siblings, her beloved daughter, Amy, her special friend, Buddy Bibey, and her cherished fur baby, Roxie. Though their absence left spaces in her heart, she carried their memories with her always.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara Belcher (Jerry Belcher).
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Melissa Mort (John Mort), Brian Moore (Sandra Moore), and Joey Moore (April Moore); her grandchildren: Leandra Moore (John Stroman), Cassandra Gilbert (David Farley), Ashley Weatherly (Parley Weatherly), John Mort Jr., Ariel Mort, Brandi Moore (Mark Thompson), Haley Geer, Colton Moore, Brittany Moore, Brandon Moore (Autumn Moore), Chase Moore, and Dillon Moore; her great-grandchildren: Logan Tewell, Arianna Tewell, Alexis Farley, Amya Farley, Braeden Tewell, Xavier Farley, Whitleigh Weatherly, Nikolas Flinchum, Jane Reed, Hadaleigh Weatherly, and Connor Buring; two special bonus sons: Eric Lester and Charles Lester, and a host of other beloved nieces and nephews.
Joann’s greatest joy in life came from her family. Whether through time spent together, conversations, support during difficult moments, or simply loving fiercely, she made sure the people around her knew they mattered. She leaves behind not only memories but lessons of faith, perseverance, and unconditional love.
While her family grieves this tremendous loss, they also celebrate a life well lived and take comfort in knowing Joann is reunited with loved ones gone before her and resting in the presence of the Savior she loved so deeply.
