Jennifer Lynne Brown, 62 was born December 1st of 1963, in Norfolk Virginia as the first child of Johnny W. Kibbey and Lana B. Kibbey. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 9, 2026. Jennifer's grandchildren were the light of her life and she absolutely adored them all. In her spare time she loved to garden, fish, yard sales, and shopping. Jennifer loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a caring and loving mother. Jennifer saw the good in everyone and would lend a helping hand when able. She had a very big heart and would always put others above herself.
She was known for her strong will, quick wit, and a sass that could light up any room. She didn’t just walk into a room, she owned it. Never one to shy away from speaking her mind, she faced life with courage, humor, and an unbreakable spirit. Those who knew her best will forever cherish her honesty, her laughter, and the fierce love she carried for her family and friends.
Jennifer was a LPN for many years and then worked in home health care. She loved taking care of people. Jennifer was a member of the Trinity Assembly Church in English, West Virginia.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her loving husband, Curtis D. Brown; her father, Johnny W. Kibbey; her sister, Lisa R. Kibbey, and a granddaughter, Madelyn H. Brown.
Those left to cherish her memories are her mother, Lana B. Kibbey; three brothers, Jeff L. Kibbey, John A. Kibbey, and William A. Kibbey; three Children, Ashley L. Bowden and husband Paul, Brandon T. Brown and wife, Megan, and Matthew R. Brown and wife, Sarah; her eight grandchildren, including John Curtis and Jacob Bowden, Mason and Baby Boy Brown, and Bobby, Waylen, Felicity, and Matylda Brown; and special companion, Scottie Proffitt.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 16, 2026 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Pastor Keith and Vanessa Meade officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where John, William, Brandon, Matthew, Paul, and Jacob will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
