Jaunita Faye Johnson, 87, of Pocahontas, VA passed away Friday, August 8, 2025 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born June 9, 1938 in Pocahontas, VA, Juanita was the daughter of the late Clyde and Daisy Sluss. Juanita was of the Holiness faith, a homemaker and a life-long resident of Pochontas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Johnson; son, Brian Keith Johnson; sisters, Ethel Gillispe, Audrey Hinkle, Barbara Smith, and Dora (Chubby) Buchanan; brothers, Claude, Mac, Delano, John, Harry, Darrell, and Larry Sluss.

Those left to cherish Juanita's memory are her daughters, Rebecca Morris and husband, Steve of Bluefield, WV, and Kaye Crist and husband, Gary of Princeton, WV; sons, William (Billy) Johnson and wife, Sharon of Bluefield, WV, and Jimmy Lee Johnson of Pocahontas, VA; brothers, Donald Sluss and wife, Sandy of Bluefield, VA, Terry Sluss and wife, Sandy of Pocahontas, VA; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A Graveside service will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, August 14 at Sluss Cemetery on Peel Chestnut Mountain with Pastor Doug Sluss officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Crist, Steve Morris, Derek Crist, Eddie Johnson, Eddie Johnson, Jr., and Casey. There will be no visitation. 

Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Johnson family.
