Janice Boyd, a devoted woman of faith, compassionate caregiver, and cherished mother and grandmother, passed away surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life. For more than 40 years, she dedicated herself to serving others through her work in healthcare, retiring from Bluefield Regional Medical Center with a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering commitment.

A faithful member of Falls Mills Christian Church and the Women of God group at Boissevain Full Gospel Church, Janice lived her faith daily, letting her light shine in every space she entered. Her greatest joy was found in the company of her family. She cherished every moment spent gathering with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating memories filled with love, laughter, and togetherness.

Janice will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her servant’s heart, and the deep, abiding love she had for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vicey Sawyers and Dewey Sawyers; her son, Roy Lee Boyd; as well as four brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Lee Boyd, Sr. of Falls Mills, Virginia; her children, Tammy Buchanan (Kenneth) of Abbs Valley, Virginia, Michael Lee Boyd, Jr. (Penny) of Glenwood, West Virginia, and Heather Pruitt of Falls Mills, Virginia.

She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Andy Buchanan (Karen), Christopher Stephany, Catherine Musick, Brett Buchanan (Nikki), Dylan Buchanan, Lindsey Pruitt, Jacob Pruitt, Jenna Boyd, Morgan French, Kloe Stephany, Noah Musick, Kimberlyn Stephany, Lainey Buchanan, and Lincoln Buchanan.

She is also survived by one sister, Nancy Sue Dillow (Tommy) of Bluefield, West Virginia; and one brother, Eddie Sawyers of Wytheville, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Stephany, Jacob Pruitt, Noah Musick, Andy Buchanan, Brett Buchanan, Timothy Webb, John Lowe, Eugene Dillow, and Dakota Dillow.

Friends and family are welcome to attend visitation on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will be followed by a burial ceremony at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Pastor Mary Phillips will officiate.
