Janet Gail Gordon

Janet Gail Carter Gordon, 80, of Princeton, WV, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Stonerise Princeton.

Born on April 3, 1942 in Bluefield, she was a daughter of the late Oakly and Mary Hicks Carter. She had been a resident of Princeton since 2010. She was a graduate of Bluefield High School and formerly worked for Mustard Equipment Company and Holiday Inn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy Daniel “Toad” Gordon; a granddaughter, Andrea Brown; 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Survivors include his daughter, Neva Jean Gills of Princeton; a son, Franklin D. (Lisa) Gordon of Bluefield, WV; grandchildren, Beth Gordon, Heather Duff, Rebecca Thompson, and Katelyn Maxey; great grandchildren, Alexis Duff, Preston Gordon, Emma Duff, Carly Thompson and Alley Thompson; a brother, Frank Nester of FL; and a sister, Sharon Meachum of Athens, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 12:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Brother Pete Eden and Chalmer Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
