James Richard Minnix

James Richard Minnix, 63, of Bluefield, WV, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023.

Born on November 20, 1959, he was a son of the late Thurman and Myrtle Horton Minnix. He had been a lifelong resident of Mercer County. He loved all of his grandkids, neighborhood children and enjoyed playing and spending time with them and the kids loved to be with him as well.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Douglas and Stevie Minnix; and a sister Sharon Fitzko.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Vawter Minnix of the home; 2 sons, Billy Joe “BJ” Minnix of Bluefield, and Jesse Lee Minnix of Bluefield; 2 grandchildren, and 3 sisters, Martha McVey, Janet Miller and Karen Epperson; and a brother, Samuel Lee Minnix.

His wishes were to be cremated and to be buried at the Minnix/Bailey Cemetery on Sanai Mountain in Goodwill.
