James Edward Taylor

James Edward "Puny" "Big E" Taylor, 75, of Rock, WV passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at his home. Born September 10, 1950 in Goodwill, WV, he was a son of the late James Eldridge Taylor and Mildred Hill Taylor Fitzko. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcella Spaulding; 2 sisters, Ruth Greer and Linda Lilly; and 2 brothers, Johnny Taylor and Jerry Taylor. James had lived on Happy Hollow Road all his life. He was a retired Coal Miner having worked for Consol Coal Company at Crane Creek as a Roof Bolter.

Those left to cherish James' memory are his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Pitzer Taylor of the home; and brother, Lonnie Taylor and wife, Glenna of Princeton, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Dana Hambrick officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Mausoleum.

The family wishes to extend thanks to Hospice Compassus for the care they provided.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mercer County Humane Society or Second Chance for Cats.
