James N. Barrett

James N. Barrett, 78, of Sheppet Street (Bluewell), Bluefield, WV, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born on May 29, 1943 in McComas, he was a son of the late Julia Sheppet. He attended Concord College and was a US Marine veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a retired equipment operator for American Electric Power. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his uncle, Andy Sheppet; and aunts, Ann Steele and Helen Vrable. Survivors include his wife, Claudia Dean Sutphin Barrett of the home; a stepson, Lorne Blane (Pamela) Davis; 3 grandchildren, and aunts, Delores Boice and Shirley Massaroni. Per his wishes, Mr. Barrett will be cremated and will inurned at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, VA at a later date.
