Jack Lee Kipfinger

Jack Lee Kipfinger, 89, of Bluefield, WV, passed, Friday, July 14, 2023, at his home. Born on June 24, 1934, in Bluefield, WV, he was a son of the late Hermen and Nelly Alley Kipfinger. Jack was a lifelong resident of Bluefield and attended Sandlick Baptist Church. He served in the US Marines and retired from Norfolk Southern. Jack enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, hunting, gardening, and taking care of his chickens. He was a hard-working man and loved the outdoors. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Kipfinger; sons, Danny and Roger Kipfinger; daughters, Teresa Pilkins and Debbie Gerwig; brother, Donnie Kipfinger; and sisters, Jonetta Johnson and Mary Boydson. Those left to cherish Jack’s memory are his son, Tyler Kipfinger of Bluefield, WV; daughter, Carol Kipfinger Lester of Bluefield, WV; brother, Larry Kipfinger of Georgia; sisters, Helen Harmon of Bluefield, WV, Kelly Kennedy of Ohio, and Cindy Ruse of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Eddie Mabe officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where full military graveside rites will be performed. Friends may call prior to services, from 11:00-1:00 on Saturday.
