Homer Jackson Moore, Jr. (Jack) a beloved husband, father and friend, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025 at his home. Born December 30, 1956 in Bluefield, WV, Jack lived a life full of love, service and integrity.
Jack worked several jobs out of school and was a dedicated employee of the Mercer County Board of Education, retiring after 34 years of service where his work ethic was an inspiration to many.
A true man of faith he was a cherished member of College Ave. Baptist Church. His journey on this earth was anything but easy and difficult these past few years, but he always had an unwavering faith in God. We ask that you remember Jack not for the way his life here on earth ended, but for the way it was lived and for the impact it had on those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Carol Moore, son, Jason Moore (Ruby), mother, Joyce Moore, sister, Cindi Hancock, and his Best Friend, Sidekick, Fur baby, Zach.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be Friday, November 7 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Chad Lambert officiating. Visitation will be from 10AM-11AM with a service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any contributions be made to College Ave. Baptist Church, 1908 Jefferson Street, Bluefield, WV 24701.
