Homer Edward Bibey

“Buddy” Homer Edward Bibey, 82, of Bluefield, WV, went home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2021.

Born in Montcalm on January 30, 1939 he was a son of the late Homer and Lucy Bibey. He was employed by Herndon Mines from which he retired. Buddy was of the Church of Christ faith. Buddy was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Those left to cherish his memory include his ex-wife, Kay Bibey; 2 daughters Tina Johnston and husband Charles Johnston of Houston, TX, April Moore and husband Joey Moore of Princeton, WV; 2 grandsons, Corey Johnston and Dillon Moore; great grandson, Charles Theodore Johnston and three step grandchildren, Ashley Weatherly, Brandi Moore, and Chase Moore; brother, Sylvester Bibey and wife Joyce Bibey of Hickory, NC; special friends, JoAnn Moore and Beryle Kinser and precious care taker for the past 4 months, Sandy Combs Moore.

Buddy donated his body to science to try and help others.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 4:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Minister Eddie Via officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.

Friends may call prior to the service on Saturday, from 3:00-4:00 pm at the funeral home.
