Helen "Gail" Berry

Helen “Gail” Berry, 85, of Marellen Avenue, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Mercer Nursing and Rehab in Bluefield.

Born on Feb 25, 1937, in Bluefield, she was a daughter of the late Paul Preston and Lura Lillian Hurt Burnopp. She had been a lifelong resident of Bluefield and was a homemaker. She attended the Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Berry; a son, Clarence Cataline; a brother, Gary Burnopp; a sister, Elizabeth Miles and grandchildren Sammuel Cataline and Aaron Lowe.

Survivors include a daughter, Carla Taylor of Bluefield, WV; a son, Dean Richard (Tammy) Rice of Princeton, WV; grandchildren, Jason (Tiffany) Cataline, Jonathan (Becky) Taylor and Christie (Timothy) Johnson; great grandchildren, Bradley, Elizabeth, Nathan, Carmella, Allie, Ashton, Sammuel, Kylie and Madline; daughter in law, Brenda Cataliine; cousin, Rita Shrewsbury; and many special friends she called family.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 1:000 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Prosperity, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Friends may call prior to services, from 12:30-1:00 PM at the funeral home.
