Goldie Marie Hopkins

Goldie Marie Hopkins, 81, of Hidden Path Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on October 1, 2022 at the home of her daughter in Princeton.

Born on March 11, 1941 in Gary, WV, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Georgie Mitchem Fowler. She had previously worked in Welch in retail.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight “Joe” Hopkins; 5 brothers and 1 sister. She was the last surviving member of her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Hopkins Lynch of Princeton, WV; a son, Edsel R. Hopkins or Orange Park, FL; stepsons, Barry Scott of Welch, WV and Terry Hopkins of Roderfield, WV; 3 grandchildren, Christopher and Courtney Hopkins of Orange Park, Amber Lynch of Bluefield, WV; 1 great grandchild, and a special niece Donna Lewis of Pocahontas, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. F. D. “Mickey” Sexton officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
