He always fellowshipped with everyone making sure their meal was delicious. Everyone in Welch knew George and he also knew everyone. Everyone called him “King George.” George was a people-person, very hospitable and wanted everyone to enjoy their meal. He was famous for a submarine sandwich that was made from a Turkish bread, dripping with cranberry sauce, a special meat spread, bacon, lettuce and tomato. People would drive from out of state just to enjoy the sandwich. In 2009, George retired.
