Freddie (Fred R) Wayne Perdue, 64, of Bluefield, VA, formerly of Matoaka, WV, and for the last 20 years of Little River, SC passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Carillion New River Valley Medical Center. Born November 11, 1957, in Bluefield, WV, he was a son of the late Bill and Barbara Bowman. In addition to his parents, Freddie was preceded in death by a son, Freddie Perdue, Jr. (Little Fred); brothers, Billy Perdue and James (Bo) Perdue; grandson, Larry Thomas, Jr. (Little L); and father and mother-in-law, Bernard and Idena Tucker. Freddie was a former tree trimmer for Asplundh Tree Service and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. He dearly loved his Heavenly Father.
Those left to cherish Freddie’s memory are his wife of 43 years, Patricia (Pat) Tucker Perdue of the home; daughter, Idena Michelle Thomas of Lancaster, SC; sisters, Bonnie Bennett of NC, and Leda Steptoe of Bluefield, VA; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Thomas and Ashlie Pigg; 4 great-grandchildren, Maddison, D.J., Michael, and Logan; 7 fur babies, nieces, nephews, and many other friends and family also survive.
In keeping with Freddie’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no public services. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.cravens-shires.com. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Perdue family.
