Fred Oscar Miles, Jr.

Fred Oscar Miles, Jr., 79, of Lorton Lick Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at the Princeton Healthcare Center.

Born on May 16, 1946 in Switchback, he was a son of the late Fred Oscar Miles, Sr. and Doreen Bird Riggs Miles. He was a veteran and a retired coal miner with 40 years of service. He was a member of the Pine Grove Church of Christ. 

He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Hill.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years Marilyn Repass Miles; son, Gary Wayne (Michon) Miles of Bridgeport, WV; daughter, Beth (Travis) Odle of Rocky Gap, VA; 2 granddaughters, Makenzy Miles and Olivia Odle; a brother, Jimmy (Mary) Miles of Bluefield, WV; and sisters, Deborah Taylor of Princeton, WV, and Patty Branscome of Princeton, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Minister Gary Lamie officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Friends may call prior to the services on Monday, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
