Frances Elizabeth Stevenson

Frances Elizabeth Stevenson, 68, died peacefully at the Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA on Saturday, October 22, 2022. After years of treatment for kidney failure, God called her home. Her husband of forty-five years and son were by her side to the end.

She was born in Welch, WV to the parents of Marvin J. Finley and Ruby H. Finley and grew up near Gary, WV. She retired from retail store management  and devoted her life to family and God. Frances was a joy filled prayer warrior of God and brought many to God through prayer with them. She and her family loved attending the Church of God in Princeton, WV.

Family and friends will remember Frances as a beautiful Christian woman that would always give a blessing by prayer.

Those left to cherish Frances’ memory are her husband of forty-five years, Danny Stevenson; son, Nicholas Stevenson; brothers, Bud Finley of Camp Creek, WV, Bill Finley of Princeton, WV; sisters, Esther Presley and life partner Lewis Boris of Saint Stephens, SC, Rebecca Finley of Princeton, WV; brother-in-laws, Mike and Nora Stevenson of Pelzer, SC, Tommy and Debbie Stevenson of Jeffersonville, IN, Phillip and Toni Stevenson of Louisville, KY; sister-in-law, Donna and Scott Cottle of Welch, WV, and Vicky Elkin of Petersburgh, V A.

Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Parks officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Stevenson family.
