Faye Smith

Faye Smith, 80, of Bluefield, WV, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023 at her home. Born May 17, 1943 in Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Lauria Trent Sanson. Faye was a resident of the Bluefield area for 41 years, was a homemaker and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Smith; and son, Brian Keith Compton.

Those left to cherish Faye’s memory are her daughters, Billie Jo Compton of Conneaut, OH, and Gina Lynn Compton of OH; brothers, Jimmy Sanson and wife, Karen of Anawalt, WV, and Ennis Sanson of Princeton, WV; sister, Ellen Marrs of Princeton, WV; 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Sanson officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Smith family.
