Eveline Short

Eveline "Deanie" Short, 93 years old, passed away on October 15, 2026, in Woodbridge, Virginia. She was born in McComas, West Virginia on August 10, 1933 to the late Carlo Cameresi and Minnie (Sparks) Cameresi. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harry Short; sisters Pansy Craft, Edith Eller, Nellie Watkins, Josephine Moses; brothers Lewis Cameresi, Ray Cameresi, Joseph Cameresi, Angelo Cameresi, James Cameresi and Robert Cameresi, Sr.

Deanie is survived by her nieces Connie Lacey, Carla Delp, Brenda Davis (Paul), Beverly Lail (Wayne) and nephews Carl Watkins, Terry Watkins (Patty), Kevin Moses (Paige), Chris Cameresi, Robert Cameresi, Jr. (Patty) and Randy Cameresi along with all those she loved and babysat through the years.

Deanie loved celebrating holidays, shopping and making memories. Her greatest joy in life was caring for children. She did not have children of her own, so she babysat for others. Deanie will be remembered by all for her love of family; her joyful spirit and special memories she created with those she loved.

Deanie leaves behind a family filled with love and generations of memories that will continue to keep her spirit alive. Though her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those that loved her, the laughter she shared, the joy she found in life, and love she gave so freely will remain forever. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A viewing will be held, Monday, October 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, 3431 Coal Heritage Road, Bluefield, West Virginia. She will be entombed at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 450 Courthouse Road., Princeton, West Virginia.
