Etta Lee Shrader

August 24, 1932 — May 12, 2022

Etta Lee Shrader, 89, of Countryside Road (Maple Acres), Princeton, WV, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Shelby Nelson’s Board and Care.

Born on August 24, 1932 in Mercer County on the family owned Terry Farm, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Nettie Holt Terry. She had been a lifelong resident of Mercer County and was a faithful member of the Sandlick United Methodist Church for many years. She was a dedicated homemaker to her late husband, Richard Lee Shrader. Etta and Richard were married for 65 years and are now happily reunited in Heaven. Etta loved spending time on the family farm with family and gardening. She loved to preserve food the old-fashioned way.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Clarence Terry; sisters, Garnet Terry, Myrtle (Ralph) Thomason, Mae (Virgil) Shrader, and Thelma (Buck) Williams.

Survivors include her beloved only child whom she dearly loved, Ron Shrader, of Princeton; grandson, Nicholas Shrader of Seymour, IN; granddaughter, Sheila Reynolds of Tazewell, VA; 3 nieces, 2 nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Special thank you to Regina and Felicia at Shelby Nelson Board and Care.

Etta was very specific about her final arrangements and did not want a funeral and requested to be cremated. Graveside services will be held at a later date on the Terry Farm Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Online condolences will be accepted at www.cravens-shires.com. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the Shrader family.
