Edward McCoy Burks

Edward McCoy Burks, 86, a resident of Carswell Hollow, Kimball, WV all his life went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, December 25th, 2021

at the residence of his son, surrounded by his family.

 

He was the son of the late W.C. Burks and Rosie Miller Burks. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Juanita Rotenberry Burks, his loving daughter, Teresa Burks Peake, one brother and sister, Edgar Burks, and Renie Burks, one granddaughter, Erica Dawn Burks.

 

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Charles and Wendy(Odham) Burks, grandsons Chase Burks, Tony Curch and companion Chelsey Mitchell, granddaughter Jessica Mitchem and husband Bill and great granddaughter Hannah Edwards and fiancée Sammy Brown.

 

He is also survived by his siblings, Loretta Lane of Bluewell, WV, Elaine Lane and husband Powell of Belcher Mtn.,

Vicky Lane and husband Carl of Wyoming Co., Violet Trump and husband Carl, and Vada Adkins and husband Paul of Kimball,WV

And a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Ed was a Deacon at the Laurel Creek Church of God, Kimball WV. He served as an MP for the U. S. Army, heavy equipment operator, and truck driver. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains and especially with his family.

 

Two special friends, Rocco Legato, and Dewey Smith of Kimball, WV and a special nephew, Kenny Torres. 

 

At the request of Mr. Burks the body has been cremated and a Memorial Service with military graveside rites will be announced at a later date.
