Edna Webb Vaughn passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, West Virginia. Born on November 3, 1931, in Montcalm, WV, Edna lived a life marked by love and a steadfast commitment to her family and faith.
A graduate of Montcalm High School, Edna was known for her love of singing at the Montcalm Church of God, where she was very active. Her faith was an integral part of her life and her participation in church activities reflected her generous heart. Edna loved her family dearly, a devotion evident to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Vaughn; her parents, John and Ida Webb; her son Jerry William Vaughn; brothers Edgar Webb, James Webb, and Frazier Webb; and sisters Bonnie Gills and Velvie Cooley.
She is survived by her son, Robert Brad Vaughn of Rock, WV; sisters Dolly Burns and husband Omar of Montcalm, WV, and Brenda Shoemaker of Wytheville, VA; and her beloved grandchildren William Shane Vaughn, Angela Lisk, Amanda Miles, and Amber Ealy; as well as seven great-grandchildren. These cherished family members reflect the loving legacy Edna leaves behind.
A visitation to honor Edna’s memory will be held on May 11, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Homes, located at 3431 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701. This will be immediately followed by a funeral service at the same location that will be officiated by Rev. Omar Burns, beginning at 1:00 p.m. All who knew Edna are invited to attend. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where family and friends will serve as passbearers.
Edna Webb Vaughn’s life was one of quiet strength and unyielding love. Her contributions as a homemaker, church member, and matriarch forged a lasting impact, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to her family, friends, and community. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Vaughn family.
