Earl Roger Lacy, Sr.

Rev. Earl Roger Lacy, Sr., 88, of Bluewell, WV, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Mercer Nursing and Rehab in Bluefield.

Born on February 5, 1938 in Montcalm, he was a son of the late Rev. Roy and Hazel Hicks Lacy. He was a longtime member and pastor at Coaldale Freewill Baptist Church. He was a retired bus driver for Mercer County Schools and was also a well-respected carpenter in the area. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Ann Belcher Lacy; and a daughter in law, Sandra "Kay" Lacy; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Dyson. 

Survivors include his daughter, Dianna (Richard) Harvey; sons, Roger Lacy, Jr. (Lisa) and Rev. Tim Lacy, all of Bluewell; grandchildren, Shannon & Kim Wilson, Jeanne Kotowski, Jessica Harvey, David and Mylene Lacy; Kandice Lacy, Matthew and Stephanie Lacy, Travis and Morgan Lacy, and Hannah Lacy; 16 great grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Dyson. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Ralph Steele and Rev. Omar Burns officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with David, Shannon, Dakota, Matthew, Travis, Hannah and Chloe, serving as pallbearers. 

Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
