Douglas Eugene Wilson

Douglas Eugene Wilson, 88, of Princeton, WV passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 at CMAC Memorial Hospital. Douglas was a custodian at Anawalt Elementary and Welch Vocational School. He was also a supply clerk at United Pocahontas Coal Company in Crumpler. He lived in Pageton WV for eighty years. In addition to his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by his brothers, Junior Wilson and Jimmy Wilson; and sister, Martha Venable.

Those left to cherish Douglas's memory are his beloved wife, Susan Childers Wilson of the home; daughter, Sara Hill and husband, Christopher of Princeton, WV; brothers, Richard Wilson and wife, Darlene of Roanoke, VA, and Mark Wilson of Pageton, WV; sisters, Sally Childers and husband, Bruce of Rutledge, TN, and Brenda Hadjigeorgalis and husband, Mike of Stafford, VA; and 2 grandcats named Hunter and Adora. 

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Farmer officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The Mercer County Veteran's Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
