Dorothy Maurine Saddler, 75, of Red Oak Ridge, Bluefield, WV passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 14th, 2026. Dorothy was born on January 28th, 1951 in East St. Louis, Illinois to the late William “Bill” Ohlendorf and Ruth Ham Ohlendorf. Dorothy grew up in Caseyville, Illinois and was a graduate of Collinsville High School. Dorothy would later meet the love of her life and husband, Willard Saddler, and move to West Virginia. Dorothy held various jobs such as Sears and housecleaning, but her true passion was being a homemaker. Her greatest joys in life were found in the simple and meaningful moments she shared with those she loved. She spent countless hours tending to her flower beds, where her care and creativity could be seen in every bloom. Christmas was one of her favorite times of year, and she poured her heart into hosting family Christmas parties that became treasured memories filled with food, laughter, and love. A talented crafter and avid reader, she always kept her hands and heart busy. One of her favorite roles was being a grandmother, especially when she would visit her grandchildren’s school to make crafts with them. These moments they will treasure forever. Her kindness, creativity, and love for family touched everyone who knew her. She is survived by her granddaughters and devoted caregivers, Laken Saddler Autrey and Kiley Croy, and by her grandson-in-law, Brock Autrey, whose love and support meant so much to her and the family; great-grandson Grayson Autrey, sister-in-laws, Connie Scott, June Dyson, and Judy Boerm; brother-in-laws, Buford Saddler (Cathy) and Timmy Saddler (DeAnna). She was aunt and godmother to Brandon, Danielle, and Clara Saddler and Elise Saddler Bowling (Jason); Aunt to Kelly St. Clair Mitchell, Kim St. Clair Morgan, Kirk (Amanda) St. Clair and Craig (Janice) Boerm, Sheila Thompson, and her children Hailey and Hunter, Kory, Laurel, and Arley Saddler, Dakota and Tiffany Proffitt and Joey and Killian Burks; as well as several more nieces and nephews. She is now reunited with those who went before her, including her parents, beloved husband, Willard Saddler; her daughter, Ashley Saddler Croy; her brothers, Jack Boerm and Don Boerm; sister, Ruth Mutran; brother-in-laws Tom Mutran, Billy Dyson, and Jimmy Scott. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 19th at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Pastor David Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where Timothy Saddler, Brandon Saddler, Buford Saddler, Jason Bowling, Brock Autrey, and Chuck Autrey will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
