Dorothy Mae Pennington

Dorothy Mae Pennington, 69, of Bluefield, WV, passed away Monday, August 17, 2026 at her home. Born August 27, 1956 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Vida Mae Horton. Dorothy was a member of Calvary Messenger Ministries Church where her husband, Mark, serves as pastor. In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by two children, Christopher Scott and Corey Scott.

Those left to cherish Dorothy's memory are her husband, Rev. Mark Pennington of the home; daughter, Shonja McPherson of Johnson City, TN; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, August 21, 2026 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Grey officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memory Gardens where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
