Doris Evelyn Evans

Doris Evelyn Evans, 84, of Princeton, WV, passed Sunday, March 3, 2024, at CAMC Memorial in Charleston, WV.

Born July 8, 1939, in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Minnie Perdue Gills. Doris worked as a supervisor in the sewing industry and was a homemaker. She was a resident of the Princeton area for 30 years.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Evans and daughter, Vickie Simpson.

Those left to cherish Doris’ memory are her sons, Michael Gills of Rock, WV, and Ricky Evans of Parkersburg, WV; daughters, Sandy Asbury of Princeton, WV, Rhonda Beavers of Florida, and Brenda Evans of Princeton, WV; grandchildren, Skylar Thomas, Michael Asbury, Kristy Janutolo, Kerri Crews, Bethany Gills, Brittany Duncan, and Courtney Hensley; and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV, with Pastor David Kirby officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Friends may call one hour prior to services from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Evans family.
