Dorcas Wright, 92 of Sandlick, is now resting in the arms of Jesus. All her life she has shown compassion and love towards others. She has been an example of a true servant of God.
Dorcas has been a member of Deliverance Temple Church for over 38 years. Dorcas was one that you could count on when Vacation Bible School came around. She has served thousands of adults and children over the years (with her favorite) peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The younger helpers had to run to keep up with her. However, with Dorcas she never wanted recognition for anything she did. She always said she wanted to be known as loving God, her family, and her church. She fought a good fight, finished her course, and kept the faith and now is rejoicing with a perfect body.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rassie Henry Davidson and Florence Belle Walker Davidson; her husband, Walter B. Wright, Jr; and 9 brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memories are her sons, William Dennis Wright (Nancy), and Richard Wright; grandchildren Crystal Poyfair (Richard), Katrina Wright and husband Chris Barham, Sean Wright (Lauren), April Wright, Steven Wright; 3 great grandchildren with another soon expected in January; and sisters Judy Rife (Cleve) and Joan Davidson.
