Donnie Ellis Bailey

Donnie Ellis Bailey, 87, of Bramwell, WV, passed away Friday, September 18, 2026 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born May 21, 1939 in Maybeury, WV, he was a son of the late Frank and Della Woods Bailey. Donnie was a retired coal miner and he loved to talk and never met a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by three brothers, Everette, Bud, and Ray; and two sisters, Lena Miller and Phyllis Pearcy.

Those left to cherish Donnie's memory are his wife, Carol Bailey of the home; son, Eddie Bailey and wife, Tina of Falls Mills, VA; brother, Charlie Bailey of Bluewell, WV; sister, Judy Clowers of Princeton, WV; grandchildren, Joseph Bailey, and April (Jimbo) Parks and; four great-grandchildren, Ily Parks, Ryland Parks, Arianna Barrett, and Abigail Barrett; and one great-great grandchild, Ariyah Parks.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Gibson and Rev. Doug Sluss officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home.
