Donald Ray Stroupe

With profound respect and a deep sense of loss, we announce the passing of Donald Ray Stroupe, affectionately known as Donnie, on June 18, 2026. Donnie was born on January 31, 1972, in Bluefield, WV.

Throughout his fifty-four years, Donnie touched the lives of those around him with a quiet strength and enduring kindness. He was born to his devoted parents, Roger and Betty Stroupe, who survive him. He was a devoted father and loved spending time with his children, Levi and Hunter Stroupe who also survive him; as well as his brothers Roger Stroupe Jr. (Rhonda), Billy Stroupe (Nikki), Michael Stroupe (Juanita), and his sister Kristy Ratley (Darrell). He also had many nieces and nephews he cared for: Mason, Whitney, Gabby, Justin, Ryan, Amanda, Ayden, Aubri, Dakota, and Jordan (deceased). Family was a cornerstone of Donnie’s life.

Donnie graduated from Bramwell High School. He worked as a truck driver and coal miner for most of his life after graduation. In his free time, he loved to hunt and fish and also truly enjoyed his motorcycle. Donnie loved to spend time with his children more than anything.

To honor and remember Donald Ray Stroupe, visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Homes, located at 3431 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701. The funeral service will follow immediately at 2:00 PM at the chapel in Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Pastor Stanley Rose of the Hillcrest Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where family will serve as pallbearers.
