Deborah Sue Thomas, age 68 of Bramwell, WV passed away peacefully in her home on September 11th 2024. She was born on November 21st 1955 in Waco, TX to the late Robert Kirk and Barbara Ann Otey.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by Donald Lee Thomas, her husband of 35 years, and one brother, Jeffrey Hunter Otey.
She is survived by three daughters: April A Bailey (Paul) of Brushfork, Amber D Thomas (John) of Princeton, and Megan L Thomas of the home. She also had six grandchildren who were her joy: Aidan Bailey, Korbin Bailey, Braeson Bailey, Addisyn Bailey, Malik “Moo Moo” Thomas and Zayn Thomas. She has three surviving brothers: Mark Steven Otey (Lisa) of Kernersville, NC, Robert K Otey, Jr of Coos Bay, OR, and Timothy “Razor” Otey of Nemours, and a special uncle Danny James (Cathy) of Brushfork. She also leaves behind a lifelong friend, Christine Dillon of Bluefield.
Debby loved her family, especially her beloved grandkids. She ran a beauty shop out of her home for over 30 years in order to raise her children and not a day went by that her family did not get a home cooked meal. She lived a simple life, finding pleasure in books, wildlife, and creating recipes. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her and loved her.
Services will be held at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell WV on Saturday September 14th 2024 friends and family may call beginning at 10:00 a.m. with services following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where Paul Bailey, John White, Korbin Bailey, Braeson Bailey, Jeff James, and Jamie Sluss will serve as Pallbearers.
