Darlene Lane, 70, of Bramwell, WV passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. Born January 18, 1955 in Bluefield, WV, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Pearl Dillon Phipps, Sr. Darlene had worked at Aramark in Production and was a homemaker. Darlene was a faithful member of the Montcalm Church of God. Darlene was a hard worker her entire life. She enjoyed the outdoors and especially riding in the side by side on the Hatfield McCoy Trail. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family. In addition to her parents, Darlene is preceded in death by her brother, Bernard, Phipps, Jr.; sister-in-law, Sheila Perry; and great-granddaughter, Olivia Bonds.
Those left to cherish Darlene's memory are her loving husband, Kester Lane of the home; son, Everett Lane and wife, Victoria of Bramwell; daughter, Kristie Bonds and Carl Wade of Peterstown, WV; brothers, Terry Phipps, and Clifton Phipps and wife, Chuthamat; sisters, Deborah Carl and husband, Frank, Joan Alford and husband, Matthew, and Tammie Slusher and husband, Les; sister-in-law, Suzanne Phipps; grandchildren, Carter Bonds and wife, Rebekah, Dustin Bonds, Brianna Pendergrass, Brandy Corner; 5 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Carl and Rev. Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Burial will follow at Belcher Mountain Cemetery in Welch, WV where Carter Bonds, Dustin Bonds, Carl Wade, Daniel Sparks, Chris Rose, and Jimmy Perry will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of serviced. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Lane family.
