Cora Jane Atwell

Cora Jane Atwell, 85, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital. Born July 22, 1940, she was a daughter of the late John and Alice Cochran Rose. Cora was a Homemaker. In addition to her parents, Cora was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Randolph Atwell; daughter, Tanya; brothers, Thomas, John Henry, and James Lee; sisters, Shirley, Connie, and Phyllis Jean. 

Those left to cherish Cora's memory are her son, Robert John Atwell and wife, Rachel of Cleveland, OH; sisters, Frances Taylor and husband, Raymond of Bluefield, WV, and Rinda Owens of Ohio; two granddaughters, Chelsea and her husband Dean Brummett and Jesse; one great-grandson, Noah; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Pastor Sherrill Michael officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
