Clyde Anthony Brown

Clyde Anthony Brown, 73, of Peel Chestnut Mountain, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at a Bluefield hospital.

Born on July 21, 1947 in Coaldale, he was a son of Agnes Davidson Williams of Bluefield and the late Clyde G. Brown. He was a lifelong resident of Peel Chestnut Mountain and was a veteran of the US Army Reserves. He had a deep faith in the Bible and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed restoring old cars, mowing grass, cutting timber. He was a man who loved his family and visited them often.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his beloved youngest daughter, Barbara.

Survivors in addition to his mother include, his wife of 51 years, Joyce Glass Brown, his sons Steven Brown, Clyde Robert Brown and wife Shella of Maybeury, WV, and a Mary Beth McGlothlin and husband Keith of Bluefield, VA; grandson, Conner McGlothlin; brother, Jeff Brown or Bluewell, WV; and sisters, Gwen Morris of Falls Mills, VA, Dana Nester of Bluewell, WV, Susan Hinkle of Abbs Valley, NC Vickie Perry of Bluewell, WV, and Karen Dale of Foley, AL. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Randy Green officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call on Friday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Billy Ward Ministries at the WGTH Radio Station in Richlands, VA.
