Cletis Albert Shilling

Cletis Albert Shilling, 74, of Bluefield, WV, passed Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital. 

Born August 21, 1950, in Crystal, WV, he was a son of the late Orville and Sally Johnson Shilling. Cletis was a lifelong resident of Bluefield, WV, and was a member of Duhring Church of Christ. He was retired from D & S Parts in Bluefield, VA, working as an assembler. Cletis was also a Veteran, serving in the United States Navy. 

In addition to his parents, Cletis was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Dean Mullins Shilling, brothers, Curtis and Henry Shilling, sisters, Betty Goins, Reva Sadler, Brenda Mullins, and Carol Shilling. 

Those left to cherish Cletis' memory are, sisters, Charlotte Dillon of Pocahontas, VA, and Susie Dequino of Tazewell, VA; stepdaughter, Leslie Horne and husband David, of Tazewell, VA; nieces, Robin Demarr and husband Pete of Pocahontas, VA, and Julia Dotson and husband Matthew, of Grafton, WV; nephew, James Sadler, of Bluefield, WV; step grandson, Joshua Horne, of Tazewell, VA, and his cat he loved dearly, Puddin. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 22, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Goins and Rev. Matthew Dotson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV, with David Horne, Pete Demarr, Joshua Horne, James Saddler, Michael Cleary, and Roger Rumley serving as pallbearers. The Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services, from 12:00-1:00 PM, at the funeral home.
