Chris Thompson gained his heavenly wings with his “five girls” surrounding him on October 28, 2022 at the age of 57 after a sudden illness.
Chris was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 27, 1965 to Roger and Mary Thompson, Brushfork, WV. He graduated from Bluefield High School in 1983 and received a double-major in English and Math from Bluefield State College. He coached numerous basketball teams, loved to play basketball, softball, and golf, enjoyed collecting and piddling in the garage with baseball cards, toys, and antiques, listening to a variety of music anywhere from AC/DC to Casting Crowns, and making everyone he knew laugh. He was a well known car salesman in the area. His passion for life showed in the way he went above and beyond to help everyone he met whether that be selling cars, giving in any way he could to others, offering advice, and making sure every person felt important and taken care of. The most important thing for Chris was his five girls, that he called “my five girls.” He spoiled them and made sure they all felt like princesses no matter what.
Chris is survived by his wife Cherie Thompson, whom he cherished; four daughters Alexis Thompson, Bluefield, VA; Haley Myers and her husband Tyler Myers, Bluefield, VA; Olivia Thompson, Bluefield, VA; Madison Thompson, Bluefield, VA; brother David Thompson, Gastonia, NC; nephew Jacob Thompson, Gastonia, NC; his in-laws Barbara and Dennis Proffitt; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rick and Joely Cole, Bluefield, VA; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; his Ramey Ford family; and his FGA family.
