Christopher Eugene Patrick, born on August 16, 1974, in Princeton, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at his residence on August 8, 2025, surrounded by the love and warmth that he carried throughout his life. Christopher, known to many as Chris, was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and partner, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Chris graduated from Montcalm High School in 1992, a testament to his commitment and hard work from an early age. He then served with honor in the 2nd Battalion 11th Artillery of the 1st Marine Division, a period in his life that shaped his character and instilled in him a profound respect for duty and discipline.
After his military service, Chris found his calling as a Master Electrician. For eight years, he dedicated himself to his work at Wolverine Advanced in Blacksburg, Virginia, where he was admired not only for his technical skills but also for the cordial relationships he built with colleagues and clients alike.
Chris was a man who loved his family deeply. He is survived by his father, Eugene Patrick; sister Sherri M. Kelly; nephew Conner Patrick Kelly; and girlfriend Dawn Eldridge. Each of these relationships brought him joy and fulfillment, and he relished every moment spent in their company. Chris’s love was evident in the simple things—family gatherings, shared laughter, and the supportive encouragement he readily offered to those he held dear.
He also had a zest for life that went beyond work and family. Chris enjoyed spending time in nature, finding solace and excitement in the great outdoors, particularly when he went hunting. These moments fueled his spirit and provided him with a sense of peace and reflection.
Chris is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Judy "Cookie" Brown Patrick, whose spirit and love will forever resonate in the hearts of those she left behind.
As we gather to remember Chris, we invite family and friends to join us for a visitation on August 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service officiated by Reverend Dr. Doug Hynrich at 11:00 AM, both held at Cravens-Shires Funeral Homes, located at 3431 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701. After the service Chris will be entombed at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Conner Kelly, Richard Davidson, Jason Eldridge, Dinnie Nipper, and Doug Corner. The service will be a chance for all whose lives were touched by Chris to honor his memory and celebrate the spirit he embodied. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Patrick family.
Christopher Eugene Patrick will be profoundly missed, but the legacy of love, kindness, and dedication he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of his loved ones. May he rest in peace, embraced by the reflections of his family and the many memories crafted with those he cherished most.
