Chester Thomas Foy

November 7, 1964 — September 20, 2025

Chester Thomas “Chet” Foy, 60, passed away after a courageous battle against stage 4 Colon Cancer on September 20, 2025, in Calabash, North Carolina. Born on November 7, 1964, in Bluefield, West Virginia, Chet lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a deep love for his family and passions.

Chet was the beloved husband of Lisa Foy and the proud father of Taylor Christie (husband Taylor J. Christie). He found immense joy in being “Paw Paw” to his grandsons Cove and Sunny Christie. He shared a close bond with his brother and best friend, Sam Foy (wife Cathy Foy). Also, loving brother to Cindy Uhlir. Chet held a special place in the heart of his father-in-law, Perry “Butch” Simpson. He was preceded in death by his parents, June and Chester Foy.

A proud graduate of Montcalm High School, Chet continued his education at Bluefield State College before earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His academic journey laid the foundation for a fulfilling career that allowed him to pursue what he loved most— engineering.

Chet was a dedicated and loyal member of the Light Source team, where he brought not only technical expertise but also an unwavering commitment to excellence. His work was more than just a job; it was an extension of his passion for building and creating.

Outside of work, Chet’s zest for life was evident in everything he did. He absolutely loved building and riding motorcycles—a hobby that combined his mechanical skill with his adventurous spirit. Whether on the golf course or watching NHRA races, cheering on the Red Sox or exploring new places through travel, Chet embraced every moment with enthusiasm. But above all else, he cherished time spent with family by the beach and the mountains—those moments were his greatest joy.

Rooted in Christian faith, Chet was a member of Montcalm Methodist Church. His strong yet gentle presence made everyone feel seen, welcomed, and appreciated. Those who knew him will remember his kindness, laughter, and the warmth he brought into every room.

Chet’s legacy is one of love, steadfast and enduring—and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by those fortunate enough to have known him.

May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing and continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
