Cecelia Katherine Lemons Stephens

The Lord is in his Holy Temple let all the earth keep silent.

Cecelia Katherine Lemons Stephens was born April 8th, in Welch W.V.

and departed this life on March 4, 2024, in her home surrounded by her husband and son.

Cecelia attended Norfolk High School and was a very popular student.

She attended Abundant life Ministries in Mayberry West Virginia.

Cel was known for her beautiful smile and love for everyone.  As well as her great sense of humor. She loved watching the mountain men and western shows. The holidays were her absolute favorite. 

She liked cooking, dancing, and singing. She was often the main attraction. Her favorite places to go were 862 and the post. Let the fun begin.

Cel was preceded in death by her mother Mrs. Annie Brown and Stepfather Mr. Alfonzo Brown, father in-law Mr. James Stephen her daughter Tara Lemons, and her son Wesley Lemons. She was also preceded by her three sisters Annette, Everett Mae, & Yvonne, two brothers Warren and Roger Lemons, two stepsisters Eva Sue, and Margaret and one stepbrother Sherman “Billy” Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband James (Denny) Stephens. Her Mother in-love Mrs. Julie Stephens. Two sons Keith Stephens of Kyle, WV and James Stephens III of Columbus, Ohio. Nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. 

Four sisters Ms. Frances Lemons and Mrs. Margaret Thomas both of Columbus OH. Mrs. Geraldine Mathews of Bluefield WV. Mrs. Barbara (Leonard)Mathews of Detroit, MI. Three sisters in love Gloria (Ellis) Bryson, Mildred (Randall) Wright, Yvonne (Marvin) Walker. One brother in love Jimmy Stephens.

And her very special friends, Brenda Powell, Ranetta Powell, and Howard (Knucks) Totten.

Funeral services will be held, Monday, March 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV, with Pastor Tim Hairston officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

A visitation will be held prior to the services, from 10:00-11:00 AM, at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home.
