Carolyn Hildred Hodges

Carolyn Hodges, 73 of Old Bramwell Road went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 12, 2022. Born September 6, 1948, in Bluefield, WV she was the daughter of the late Emma Viola French and Charles William Pokorney. Carolyn was a 1968 graduate of Bluefield High School and later attended Bluefield State College where she obtained her CNA. She worked for Professional Imaging in Princeton as a collection manager until her retirement in Spring 1999. Carolyn was proceeded in death by her parents, an infant daughter Rebecca Dawn Arney, 2 sisters Dreama Diane Pokorney and Debra Lynn Brown, a brother David Randall Pokorney, and the love of her life, best friend, and father of her children.

She is survived by her daughter Shawna Gail Arney Owens and her husband Scott Owens of Cary, NC, niece Kristi Renae Lambert and her husband Shane Lambert of Princeton, WV, nieces Melanie Mills, LeAnna Estep,Tonya Anderson and Tiffany Brown. Nephew Christopher Scott Pokorney. Grandsons Aaron Scott Owens, Joseph Shawn Hale Owens and Marcus Emmanuel Lee Owens. Great nieces, Laiken Shaianne Richmond and her husband Dustin Richmond and Ariana Elizabeth Lambert, Jaiden Estep and Santina Shrader. And three great-great nieces, Freya, Layah and Emma Richmond. Per Carolyn's wishes no service will be held after cremation and her ashes will be placed in an undisclosed location where she can enjoy the view
