Carl Edward Jones

Carl "Corky" Jones, 90, of Bluefield, WV passed away at his home on February 16, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl J. Jones and Florence E. (Evans) Jones; sisters Lillie Margaret Jones, and Dorothy E. (Hicks) Clark; brothers, Robert E. Jones and John W. F. Jones.

Corky was born in Princeton and was devoted to his family. At an early age, he helped provide loving care to his younger siblings. He worked as a salesman for Bluefield Supply Company and retired from Noland Company. He was an avid reader and loved to make bread for friends and family.

He is survived by his wife Jo Ann (Caldwell) Jones and two sisters, Mary Lee Roan (Jimmy) of Niles, OH and Nellie Owens of Morristown, TN, and several special nieces and nephews.

He attended church at Brushfork First Church of God and gave his heart to the Lord in 1977.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 1:00 p m at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV. The Reverend Jared Mitchell Officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where his nephews will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Brushfork First Church of God, 1147 Brushfork Rd., Bluefield, WV 24701 or Amedisys Hospice, 545 Airport Rd., Bluefield, WV 24701.

Visitation with friends and family will be Thursday from 12:00- 1:00 pm at the funeral home preceding the funeral. The family also wishes to thank Amedisys Hospice for their care.
