Brenda Jean Coffey Watkins, 75, of Princeton, WV, passed Friday, October 10, 2025, at her home with her family surrounding her.
Born February 12, 1950, in Bluefield, WV, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Lucille Cochran Coffey. Brenda had been a lifelong resident of Mercer County. She worked many years as the Bakery Manager at Walmart and also attended the Athens Church of God. Brenda was affectionately known as "Mamaw" to everyone who knew her. She enjoyed cooking, outdoor activities such as camping, and sitting on her porch. She was a true pillar in her family, as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and will be missed deeply by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Clarence Watkins, and her brother, Jack Coffey.
Those left to cherish Brenda's memory are her children, Gary Watkins and wife Tina of Glenwood, WV, Pat Watkins and wife Robin of Brushfork, WV, and Aaron Watkins of Princeton, WV; eight grandchildren, Kristen Farley and husband Jamie, Corey Watkins and wife Aubrey, Brian Watkins and wife Melanie, Monica Harman, Amanda Butler and husband Greg, Lianna Futterman, Sarah Watkins, and Kim Puckett and husband John; 15 great grandchildren; her cousins, who were more like brothers and sisters, Ricky Duncan, Dave Duncan, and Cathy Sparks; and her sweet dog, Ellie.
Funeral services will be held, Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10:30 AM, at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV, with Pastor Stanley Metz officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Garden in Princeton, WV, with family and friends serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services, from 9:30-10:30 AM, at the funeral home.
