Brenda Joyce Gilbert

Brenda Joyce Gilbert, 71, of Sportsman Drive, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Princeton Community Hospital.

Born on March 17, 1948 in Pocahontas, VA, she was a daughter of the late Owen Hollyfield, Sr. and Sevillah Bentley Hollyfield. She had been a resident of Bluefield for most of her life and was a retired nursing assistant. She loved doing puzzles, paints, Halloween parties and hummingbirds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Owen Hollyfield, Jr.

Survivors include her husband, David Aaron Gilbert of the home; daughters, Carola (Blaine) Farmer of Lexington, KY, and Lynn (Jerard) Lasell of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Savannah Farmer, Olivia Farmer, and Jordyn Farmer; nephew, Chris (Keri) Hollyfield and their children, Kyra and Amber Hollyfield; brother, James (Peggy) Hollyfield; and sister, Dorothy (Wayne) Harmon.

At her request, a private family service will be held.
