Barbara Cox

Barbara Hurst Cox, 78, of Glenwood Haven Road, Princeton, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at her home.

Born on February 11, 1939 in Duhring, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Wall Hurst. She was originally from Bluewell and was a current resident of Glenwood, WV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph S. Cox, and a son, Michael S. Cox.

Survivors include a son, Elmer “Butch” Burgess and wife Dawn of Valrico, FL; stepdaughter, Pam Baston of OK; adopted son, George Adkins and wife Donna of Lima, OH; stepdaughter, Pam Baston of OK; and 6 grandchildren, Thomas H. Burgess (Haley), Ryan P. Burgess (Kelly), Michael S. Cox, II (Courtney), Zachary H. Cox (Samantha), Jonathan A. Cox, and Alexander J. Cox.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. James Milam officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call on Friday from 12:00-1:00 at the funeral home.
