Bonnie Arlene Webb Gills
On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Bonnie Arlene Webb Gills, 83, of Montcalm, WV was welcomed into the comforting arms of her Savior with her family by her side.
Born January 2, 1942 to the late John Henry and Ida Grace Webb, she was a lifelong resident of Montcalm, graduated from Montcalm High School in 1960, managed multiple businesses with her late husband, and retired from Kroger’s in Bluewell.
Bonnie’s life is an amazing testament to the goodness of God, His faithfulness, and His abiding love. She reflected her unwavering passion for Christ through servanthood, her heart for worship, and an unconditional love she had for everyone she met.
She was an incredible cook (especially biscuits and gravy), but it was her heart that nourished us most deeply through countless meals shared around her table. She adored her family and was always ready with a warm embrace. Her smile and laughter were contagious – truly, the joy of the Lord.
She loved Christmas and all its festivities, and ensured the season was a true celebration of Christ and the hope we have in Him.
She was a dedicated member of Montcalm Church of God – having served as pianist for over 60 years, clerk, Sunday School teacher, and ladies ministries treasurer.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Douglas Noah Gills; granddaughter, Krislin Helmondollar; siblings, Edgar Webb, James Webb, Frazier Webb, and Velvie Cooley.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Rhonda (Terry) Helmondollar and Jonathan (Gianna) Gills; step-daughter, Patricia Byrd; grandchildren, Travis (Victoria) Helmondollar, Joshua (Sarah) Helmondollar, Audrie (Trevor) Darago, Naomi (TJ) Anderson, James Gills, Rebekah Gills, and Giovanni Gills; great-grandsons, Oliver Helmondollar and Ezra Darago; siblings, Edna Vaughn, Brenda Shoemaker, and Dollie (Omar) Burns; special friend, Dorothy Lockhart; many nieces, nephews, and church family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with her grandson, Pastor Travis Helmondollar officiating. The family will receive loved ones at 1:00 p.m. (Family will gather at 12:00 p.m.)
Burial will be on Wednesday, September 10 at 12:00 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Loved ones will gather at 11:30 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home.
